ARTHRITIS |

Arthritis is any inflammation of the joints, causing pain, swelling and stiffness. A joint is the place where two or more bones connect. Joints are made of connective tissue and cartillage.
There are two major subtypes of arthritis: Osteoarthritis and Rheumatiod arthritis.
1) Osteoarthritis:
2) Rheumatoid: a chronic condition that can result in weakness, loss of mobility, and eventual destruction and deformity of the joints. (also called degenerative joint disease)
Rheumatoid arthritis usually affects people after middle age and is characterized by gradual loss of cartilage of the joints.
Pain, swelling, redness, heat.
OSTEOARTHRITIS
It can also develop because of injury such as bones broken, intense
physical activity as in athletics or a defect in the protein comprising the
cartilage. RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
Rheumatoid arthritis is caused by an autoimmune disorder.
Or it may be caused by a viral infection that sets off the immune response in which the synovial membrane falls under attack.
There is some conjecture that physical and/or emotional stress may bring on the disorder.
Poor nutrition may also contribute to the onset of rheumatoid arthritis.
1) Don't be overweight. Excess weight adds stress to the joints and increases the chance of arthritis.
2) Don't abuse your joints. Take it easy on yourself, If injured, give yourself time to heal properly.
3) Maintain proper posture to reduce stresses on joints causes by awkward positions.
4) Maintain regular exercise to maintain proper muscle and tendon strength, thereby distributing movement forces to other areas.
